In this collection, Dea Rosa Creative Director Andria Mitsakospulled her inspiration from her ‘now’ city, Shanghai, China. Appropriately named, “The Year of the Dragon,” the collection is comprised of Dea Rosa’s signature styles in a luxurious color palette: sumptuous neon python teases with the kitsch of an open market; modern art plays host to a ceramic blue crocodile; temples dance with violet python, while lucky red lizard takes a commanding role along the city’s signature skyline.

The collection centers around a discreet and sexy enigma. Fearless and evocative, in mind, and in body effortlessly personifying theluck of the dragon. While the dragon says, “I conquer.” She favors chance. This year, the dragon rules Shanghai. A city that evolves by the millisecond a cultural mosaic that fiercely embraces the future a living dichotomy of old and new.

Mitsakos has also introduced gloves this season, each handmade by Milanese artisans.

Dea Rosa Creative Director Andria Mitsakos was in Shanghai last month to shoot the campaign for the upcoming Dea Rosa Fall Winter 2012-2013 Collection. This amazing city sparked the inspiration for the new collection - it’s such a dichotomy of old and new.

What's the relationship that you have with your bags?

My bag is like my BFF, it has to be there to carry whatever I cannot carry alone. I am always on the go, so my bag has to be roomy, versatile, but most importantly stylish.

How have you introduced the snake skin trend into your wardrobe?

I surprisingly have not introduced the snake skin trend into my wardrobe that much. I have always been hesitant with animal/reptile like prints and materials; I'm just now delving into leopard prints. I do have a pair of platform stiletto pumps with a subtle snakeskin print that I adore. Those I wear with skinny jeans and skirts.

What places are on your wishlist of travels, what bag do you think makes a MUST HAVE for your kind of holidays?

One place that I want to travel to is London. I have always wanted to go there since I was a kid and definitely plan to. I also want to travel to France. Definitely working on an oversees adventure. A structured, yet simple clutch works best for me during holidays. I usually try to limit the amount of things I carry and clutches immediately helps with that.
